Pink sewn fabric wrapped and waved around a welded  metal structure

Within my work I started incorporating textile materials such as yarn and fabric, because of the variety of colours, these materials can offer to my work.  Aesthetically the softness of the materials allows the work to evoke a visual sensibility, a fragility that gets stronger when used to combine eachoter by using different techniques such as sewing ,waving ,crocheting or knitting.

As our world develops more and more technologically ,we have lost contact with ourselves as creative beings. Having expectations of unlimited productivity ,losing our senses of joy and curiosity that we once had when we were children. In my latest practice I am putting more focus on creating colourful installations that inspire the body to relax and find joy in exploring colours and textures .

I am interested in creating colourful  installations  ,that can be interpreted as ,dream land ‘’ environments. The dream land concept  in itself  is different for each individual to portray ,but for me personally ,it has  a colourful but calming character .A dream land it’s about allowing ourselves to explore or subconscious senses ,through sensory stimulation such as touching hearing and feeling .

My main technique’s that I use are crocheting ,waving and ceramic work . To me organic shapes can easily be used to  visually create a relaxed environment where colour brings joy ,connects and inspires .I am exploring the ways in which colour is affecting our way of perceiving and responding to our environment .The way we can alter our perception  through focusing on engaging oneself into a therapeutical practice such as using our hands to interact with a material or a natural environment.
